I See You! A New Kind of “Hello”
Beautiful custom of this African tribe: SAWABONA.
In this tribe when someone does something bad or wrong, they bring the person to the center of the village and the whole tribe comes and surrounds.
For two days they say "all good things" he has done.
The tribe believes that every human being comes into the world as a good being, wanting security, love, peace and happiness. But sometimes, in the pursuit of those things, people make mistakes; errors that the community sees as a cry for help.
Then the tribe is bound to lift; to reconnect with who he really is, until he fully remembers the truth which had been temporarily disconnected "I'm good."
SAWABONA is a greeting used in South Africa to mean "I respect you, I value you because you are important to me.".
In response, people answered SHIKOBA, which is:
"So, I am for you."
